Biography
Frances Mary Jones 7 August 1826, married William McDonald in 1850 in West Derby and in 1851 was a master mariner’s wife 24 living at 13 Cleveden Street St.Pauls Toxteth Park, Liverpool with her aunt Sarah Hammond 50 from Manchester, three brothers, Henry 30 master mariner, John 20 merchants clerk and Edmund B 5 all born at Holt, and a visiting governess. Did they mostly emigrate the next year? As not found in 1861 or subsequent census. Frances Mary Jones 1826 Holt, died 28 April 1871 at sea on the voyage returning home from Japan, [Trudy Larson Curl]. Deaths, McDonald, 28th at sea, on the voyage to England, wife of William McDonald Esq of Yokahama, Japan, and eldest daughter of the late Edmund William Jones, Esq of Holt, Denbighshire.
