Lorelee, please can we have a conversation about the Hendys you are working on and merging? The Hendy ONS is a big project that people have spent many years on. In order to stay on top of the project we track changes on a Google spreadsheet. I am finding it very difficult to keep up with tracking the changes you are making. It would be really helpful in collaborating if we can talk about it and it would be great if you join the ONS so we can work together.

Thanks, Susie :-)

Hi again Susie. I sent an email, but thought I should respond here too. I'm done with the Hendy family now. I believe there were only 2 merges and one suggested merge. The 2 merges I completed were clear duplicates, Raycroft-56 and Nile-60.

Mary Ann's profile was created twice because she was widowed in the 1911 census, but was with her family in 1901.

Looks like you have a huge project on your hands. I'll keep my eyes open & make sure to reach out if I come across this family name again.

Cheers, Loralee

Hi I have been doing some research on the Marsdens, (re the proposed merge) still early days but I have found step back house at Tockholes, Lancashire. and a newspaper article referencing it I have added the link to Evan and Agnes Marsdens profile (siblings of William the one born circa 1774) I might add a brief outline of the story in case it becomes obsolete. Which William marries Betty Hayes at this point I dont know (or if they are the same person just the stories dont fit) William from step back house, Tockholes supposedly emigrates after his wifes death the other emigraes with his wife and children. to complicate matters Richard brother of William born circa 1774 emigrates in 1827 to Baltimore, Maryland. Still working on it

The Connect-a-Thon was fun, we hope you enjoyed yourself and are recovering. Thank you for helping, it is appreciated.

Our teams did really well. Our big Mighty Oaks Team came first overall, and our Little Mighty Oak Branches Team was in the top 5 on the Normalised Score. The combined score of our two teams was 11,109. A total of was 95,575 new profiles added by all during the thon.

The next Thon, towards the end of the year will be a Source-a-Thon, And watch G2G for the WikiTree Games sometime in August.

Thanks again for a great weekend, we look forward to working with you again soon.

Hi Loralee

We are delighted to announce a new Profile Improvements Team namely the England Tangled Families Team which will be formed by merging the Arborists, Gedcoms and Unknown Teams,

As we know tangled families are created from old GEDCOM’s which cover many generations resulting in the need to merge profiles and having to disconnect others together with finding unknown spouses and family members.

The merging of the existing three teams into one exciting new team will hopefully reduce duplications and definitely will increase collaboration between you our experienced and dedicated members.

Team Leader for the England Tangled Families Team will be Fran Weidman who has agreed to manage the team bringing her excellent knowledge and experience from creating and managing the Unknowns Team together with Fran’s five year membership of the England Project.

Currently as a member of one or more of the named teams we are asking you to join our new amalgamated Tangled Families Team and letting us know by contacting Joan Williams or Malc Rowlands through Discord Messaging, England Project Google Group or Private WT Message if you want to join our new team.

Kind regards

Joan and Malc

Hi Maddy,

I'm focused on finding LNAB, specifically in the Lancashire district for now (595 and counting). There's still quite a lot to work through, so I'll likely stay there. But, I do join in with some of the other monthly challenges or work on some other data doctor tasks like fixing county locations, cleaning up gedcom imports, fixing mother/father born too early or too late. I'd be interested in participating as a 'connecting buddy' if there's a need. I'm happy putting together sourced family profiles if it would help a connector connect the dots.

Thanks Loralee, I’ll pass on the information about your being interested in being a connecting buddy. It’s always great to have that bio expertise in the monthly challenges, - I enjoy them too! Finding LNAB is one of the most useful things you can do as well as being quite a challenging task, so that is amazing that you have managed so many. Also, just wanted to say I really admire your surname list on your profile.

Best regards, and please keep up all that great work,

Hi Loralee,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks so much Dorothy. I think I clicked it by accident instead of the sources challenge. Sorry for the extra admin trouble.

Hi Thanks for updating Annie Keep and John Tollafield, it now looks very professional.

I found an error. The burial info you've added is 30 years later than the death, think it might be her daughter
