...the saga of the Stedman Family cemetery, the final step took place on November 19th of this year when the NSSAR honored Nathan Alexander Stedman III for his revolutionary war service and dedicated a plaque in his honor at the gravesite.

The original cemetery had been neglected and paved over.  After extensive research determining the precise location of the cemetery and the engagement of a local developer to fund the project, an archeological dig was undertaken to recover any extant remains and reinter them at the Pittsboro UMC Church graveyard just yards away from its original location.

The space page documents the entire process and now includes the final piece, the dedication ceremony to honor an American patriot.
