Tomaso was born about 1792 ^[1] to Gaspare Zito and Maria Di Rosa or Maria Trapani ^[2]. His first wife was Laurea Anastasi who he married in 1820 ^[3]. Widowed, he married again in 1827 at around age 35 to the 41-year-old widow Margarita Livoti ^[4]. They had at least one child.
