Rob, in case you're not monitoring the Connect-a-Thon registration thread, you have someone who has chosen the Banyan Tree as their 'Thon Team. They also responded on the thread I posted to advertise your Team. I hope things are going well for you.

Thanks Melanie. I have been pushing the team, so that is good news.

Yes, saw that and added him etc etc

Now that it's July, you really need to ask a question in g2g and link it to your team's space page. Just say what the team is for, and add the india tag as well as the tag for connect-a-thon. Having a post in the registration thread won't be as visible as your own specific one.

Here's another image for your Team. Please note - my feelings will NOT be hurt if you don't want it, or choose not to use it. I just like doing images, and as I have an interest in India, I felt drawn to try a few things.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for taking responsibility for the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a tool that can help with the formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi Rob

Thank you for signing the Honor Code, it is appreciated.

I notice you have uploaded a GedCom file the GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

All the best

Janet ~ WikiTree Greeter

Thank you! I have resolved all my Gedcom people suggestions etc. But I am puzzled as to how to easily add these people to Wikitree now.

The Gedcom has the relationships between those people, so how can I use that information to reconstruct them in Wikitree? Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob

I will take a look and get back to you. How many folk where in the gedcom upload? I can see three generations

Janet

Hi, it's about 2,500 people.

Hi again Janet,

Just to clarify, I did enter myself and 2 other generations *manually*, then *separately* I uploaded and matched/rejected the Wilson2.ged Gedcom file. This now has Add buttons for each row. The issue is how to add some or many people from the Gedom to the tree efficiently. I don't know quite how to do that! Rob

Hi Rob

As far as I can tell you click the Add button to open the screen to create the profile it will look like the page from when you added the profiles manually. There is a section about adding on the page I sent the link for earlier. If you still have trouble with this then please contact Mindy by private message.
