Amos Williams was born about 1852 in Vermont. He was the son of Cato Williams and Ellen Eunice Langley,[1][2] and the brother of Civil War veteran Cyrus Williams of the all-black 54th Massachusetts regiment.
In 1872, he married Flora Hill.[1] He married Martha Jane Lord in 1875.[3] In 1878, he married Betsey Taylor.[2]
