Biography
Nicholas Eldredge WILLIAMS was born [1] 30 Jun 1770 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut. He was the fourth child of Mary (Stanton) & Edward Williams.
He married Lucretia HEMPSTEAD, Sept 4, 1794, in Hopkinton (R.I.), by Abram Coon, J.P.
Per Stonington vital records, Book 4, p. 52; Text: "Personally appeared Nicholas Williams and Lucretia Hempsted the 4th day of September at Hopkinton in the County of Washington and was lawfully married. Sept 4, 1794. Pr Abram Coon, Justice of Peace." Under this record, the four daughters of Nicholas and Lucretia are listed: Grace, Lucy, Mary and Amelia (besides Sophia and Esther).
