Frances Mary West was born on 13 Apr 1825 in Lewis County, Kentucky. She married John Shaw May (1824-1895) on 5 Aug 1846 in Lewis County, Kentucky. John was a cooper and a farmer in Lewis County.[1][2][3]

After the war, the May family remained in Lewis county. They lived in Esculapia in 1870. Frances died at Esculapia Springs on 12 Jul 1871 and was buried in the Mays Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.[4][5]
