Biography

Ireland Native
Eric Waller was born in Ireland.

Eric de Warrenne Waller was born on 30 June 1900 in Nenagh, County Tipperary[1]. He was the younger son of William Arthur De Warrenne Waller and Anna Selina Waller.

In the 1901 Ireland Census, Eric Waller (aged 9 mths) was recorded living with his mother Anna S Waller (30) and his two siblings Mary Waller (7 and a Scholar) and Hardress Waller (3) at Wellington, Nenagh Rural, Tipperary. Also in the household were four servants[2].

His father William died suddenly on 8 March 1904 at the age of 38. His mother remarried.

Five years after losing his father, he also lost his mother Anna when she died on 4 February 1911 after suffering from Pneumonia.

He served in the 1st World War with the 2nd Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps[3]. Military Regiment: 49069

Tragically he lost his older brother Hardress in 1920 when he was drowned at sea after the aeroplane he was piloting went down.

Eric married Helen Stewart Ainger in 1924 in Bromley, Kent, England[4]. They had two children. Sadly his wife Helen died on 14 February 1937.

He married, secondly, Joan Adela Wade in 1939 in Southampton, Hampshire, England[5].

In the 1939 England and Wales Register, Eric de Warrene Waller (b. 30 Jun 1900 and Married) was recorded at A R P Headquarters, Victoria Road, Ashford, Kent, England.
