Biography

Bobbie Mae Vicory was born on October 17, 1929, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the daughter of George Vicory and Lura Mae Morgan. She married Alvin Bertrand Keith Schmotzer (son of Alvin Keith and Gladys Barron) about 1947. They had three children during their marriage. After they divorced, she married Gene Shumway Harmon. Bobbie died due to injuries sustained during a car accident on August 10, 1972.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Vicory Harmon, 42, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in McComb.

Mrs. Harmon, wife of Gene S. Harmon, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on I-55 near Hazlehurst Saturday.

Born Oct. 17, 1929, in Jackson, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Vicory of Jackson.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church and was associated with her husband in business.

Survivors include her husband, her parents, three sons, Larry Schmotzer, Houston, Tex., Ronnie Schmotzer, Austin, Tex., Brian Harmon, McComb; one daughter, Janice Harmon, McComb; one sister, Mrs. Maxine Garrett, Jackson, and one grandchild.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to a memorial being established through the local Episcopal Church. Further details will be announced later.

The body was taken to the church this morning where it will lie until time for services. Rev. Norval Yerger will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
