Notes

John came with his parents to Crab Orchard KY about 1779. He received a land grant of 200 acres in Green Co and married Mary Spaulding. They had 7 children and were members of Flat Lick Baptist Church.

In 1798 Green Co was divided and his farm was in eastern Pulaski Co.

He likely died in 1809 or early 1810. John appears on the 1809 Pulaski County tax list, but then his wife, Mary, appears on the July 1810 tax list with all the same land John was taxed on the previous year, a good indicator of his death.[1]

On 14 February 1812 the farm was sold to John James and an auction was held 24 Feb 1812 to dispose of his personal property.

In 1830, an appeal came to the Supreme Court of Indiana in the case of Green et. al. v. Vardiman et. al. which named John's children and his daughters' husbands and mentioned the deaths of John T., Nancy, and Peter.
