Biography

Martha married Edward Lewis of Prince George County, Virginia and their son, Edward Lewis, Jr was born in that county on October 3, 1728. Edward died before 1733.[1][2][3]

Martha married John Manson before 1733.[4][5]

John Manson, "born Feb. 14, 1702, married Martha Lewis, a widow". He moved to Dinwiddie County, Virginia about 1730.[6]

John and Martha Manson were the parents of Peter Manson, born Dec. 24, 1733[6][7] and married twice: Susanna Hardaway (born Sept. 27, 1740 in Dinwiddie Co.) and Agnes Hardaway (born March 30, 1749 in Dinwiddie Co.).[6][8] Peter died in 1793 in Dinwiddie Co.[6][9]

A lawsuit in 1790 involving Manson property appears to support that this John Manson is the "John Manson of Dinwiddie" whose daughter, Jane, married Burwell Thweatt. Burwell and Jane (Manson) Thweatt had three children who were of age in 1790.[10]

Research Notes

Maiden name: Support is needed for "Pegram", believed by some to be her maiden name.

update: corrected typo (I had typed 1610 Edward's birth year, which his profile has as 1710)

I think her birth year of 1692 is probably not correct. Edward's profile shows him born 1610, and this profile shows her 2nd husband born 1702. It would be more usual that the bride of an 18-year-old (Edward) would be 18 or younger, which would put her birth at 1710 or 1712 (1692 puts her at 36 in 1728 when Edward Jr. was born, 41 in 1733 when her son Peter Manson was born, and 48 in 1740 when daughter Jane was born).

John Manson (b Feb. 14, 1702) m Mrs. Martha Lewis, a widow. Some have her as Martha Pegram Lewis. Do your records have any hint of this John marrying a Martha Pegram or a Martha Lewis? (John's son Peter Manson is my 6x-gr-grandfather)
