Biography

George Jacob Ulrich was born in 1727, in what is today Germany.

Immigration: 4 Oct 1751 arrived in Philadelphia aboard the Queen of Denmark

Naturalization: 12 Aug 1764 at Heidelberg Township, Berks, Pennsylvania.

16 Oct 1753: he married Maria Elisabetha Wolf (1728-1805) at St. John's Host Church, Bernville, Berks Co., Pennsylvania,. They had the following children:

  1. Valentine (1761- ) m Rosina Berger (~1770- ); 2 children
  2. Margaretha (1764- ) m Johann Nicholas Haupt
  3. Eva Barbara (1754-1824) m George Peter Bressler (1749-1832); 10 children. She died in Ohio
  4. Anna Maria (1759-1839) m Johannes Bressler (1753-1835)
  5. Catherine (1763-1823) m Johann Adam Braun (1759-1837)
  6. Elizabeth (1766- ~1814) m Heinrich Meyer (1760-1806); 10 children
  7. Maria Eva (1768-1830) m Johan Peter Klopp (1775-1850); 5 children
  8. Susanna (1770- ) m Johannes Jacob Diehl
  9. Christina (1772- ) m Christian Webber

Will: George left a will dated 2 Oct 1786 and probated 30 Jan 1787 that was witnessed by Egidius Meyer and George Webber. ULRICH, GEORGE JACOB, Pinegrove:

To son Valentine my whole estate with 250 acres of land, paying £270 to each sister and to his mother Margreta ULRICH £60. The others mentioned are Eve Barbara, Anna Maria, Catharine, Margretz ULRICH, Elizabeth MEYER, Eve ULRICH, Susanna ULRICH and Christina. Mentions Peter BRESSLER, John BRESSLER and John Adam BROWN who may have been sons-in-law. Executor: Son Valentine. Witnesses: Egidius MOYER and Christian WEBBER.

All of the children except Maria Eva, No 7, were mentioned in George's will. Her record was found in the Blue Mountain Church Records. It is quite possible that she is the daughter of another George Ulrich.
