Elizabeth was born about 1757 in Frederick County, Province of Maryland. Her parents, Stephen & Elizabeth Ulrich, were members of the Brethren community. During the French and Indian wars, after General Braddock's defeat in 1756, the entire region was subject to Indian attack and the family was forced to flee the area, probably returning to family in Pennsylvania. The family returned to Frederick County, but were forced to flee again in 1763.
Elizabeth married Daniel Miller and together they had at least 9 children:[1]
Stephen Miller, born March (1st or 7th) 1775
Jacob Miller, born November 20, 1776
Daniel Miller, born March 30, 1779; died June 25, 1812
