Biography

Ray Russell Tyrell was born 16 Mar 1891 in Moore Township, Sanilac, Michigan. He was the son of John Tyrell and Margaret Elizabeth Grow.^[1]

1900 census shows Maggie (age 32) and John Tyrell (age 42) (Misspelled Gyrell) living in Moore Township, Sanilac, Michigan with their children: Albert (age 19), Ray R (age 9 (misspelled Roy), and Stanley A (age 0). Maggie has had 5 children; 3 are living. (Bertha Almeda died 10 Feb 1889 and William Roy died 8 Feb 1889)^[2]

30 Oct 1919 Ray Russell Tyrell married Nettie May Dewar.

He passed away in 16 May 1975.

I think of you often, we are all well, the folks are busy with the spring work, drilling oats, etc, we are having very nice weather. You spoke of going in a home, how do you like it. P.S. I have sad news to tell you, yesterday (Tuesday) we attended funeral services for Ray Tyrell, he lived near Detroit, Stanley died in February of this year, he lived in Peck, I think you know, they were Uncle John and Aunt Maggie's children, they lived at Snover, Allie died years ago, I think he was 35 years old, he was married to Bessie, she died through childbirth, her baby died too, Allie came home and lived with his folks. I think he lived about 4 years after Bessie died. He became ill in his stomach, they brought the doctor from Snover, he said I can't help him, take him to the hospital, they took him to Port Huron, they operated, he just lived 2-3days, his folks were there, he said "Ma, I'm going now to see Bessie, Praise the Lord, and he was gone. ~Clara ^[3]
