Ferdinand was in the military and died on 3 April 1919. He was in the Australian Army Service Corps (service number 1765).[1]
TOMPSON. —April 3, 1919, in Palestine, Ferdinand Pearson Tompson, sergeant, of the Anzac Divisional Train (late of 6th Light Horse), of pneumonia, youngest son of Ferdinand and Ellen Tompson, of 8 Wood-street, Manly (late of Warren), aged 26 years, after 3½ years' service. He did his duty well.[2]
