Biography

Antonio Todaro is born and baptized 6 November 1768 in Corleone, named after his paternal grandfather. He is the son of Giovanni Todaro and Antonia Russo. His godparents are Arcangelo and Antonia Gagliano, a married couple.[1]

Antonino (as he's later called) marries Maddalena Puccio[2] on 16 September 1792. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living.[3][4]

Antonino and Maddalena have at least ten children: two daughters named Antonina (1793 and 1797), two daughters named Antonia (1800 and c. 1818), Giovanni (1794), Carmela (1803), Andrea (1804), Vincenza (c. 1811), Lucia (c. 1817), Giuseppe (c. 1821) and Giuseppa.

The first daughter named Antonina Maria is born and baptized 27 September 1793. Her godparents are Andrea and Biagia Marino, a married couple. Biagia is Antonina Maria's first cousin on her father's side. Antonina is presumed to have died before her sister is born in 1797.

Giovanni is born eleven months later, on 9 November 1794, and baptized after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Francesco and Maria Cascio, a recently married couple.

The second daughter named Antonina Maria is born and baptized 22 December 1797. Her godparents are Giuseppe and her maternal aunt Biagia Ligotino, a married couple. Antonina survives to marry.

Antonia Maria is born and baptized 6 September 1800. Her godparents are Salvatore and her maternal aunt Maria Ligotino, a married couple.

Carmela is born and baptized 24 September 1803. Her godparents are Francesco and Lucia Palazzo, a married couple. Carmela's godmother is her first cousin.

Carmela dies on 28 November 1803 at two months of age.

Andrea is born and baptized 30 November 1804 in Corleone. His godparents are Nicolo' and Salvatrice Grizzaffi, a married couple.

Antonia dies on 18 January 1809 at eight years of age.

Vincenza is known from the record of her death in infancy on 12 January 1812.

Andrea dies, reportedly at age nine (he's not yet eight) on 20 September 1812.

I estimate Lucia is born around 1817, twenty years before she marries.

Antonina marries Carmelo d’Anna on 26 October 1817.[5]

A second daughter named Antonia Maria is born around 1818, based on her reported age at death.

Giovanni marries at least twice, first to Francesca Paola Panepinto. He remarries to Bernarda Trumbatura on 22 October 1832.[6]

Maddalena dies at age 55 (b. 1781) on 19 July 1836. Antonino survives her.

Lucia marries Mariano di Miceli on 16 April 1837.

Antonio dies at age 70 (b. 1768) on 30 January 1838.

Giuseppe marries Maria Marino on 17 January 1841.[7]

Maria Antonina dies, reportedly at age 81 (b. 1818) on 4 December 1899. She is the widow of Vincenzo lo Bue.

Lucia dies at 84 years of age on 24 February 1900. She is also a widow.
