I am quite certain that this Mary Tibbals was never married to a Hollis Campbell

You were correct because the Nicholas Smith from Virginia was a different person.

Hello Pat & Monica, I am researching the Tibbals family as a part of the Puritan Great Migration Project. We rely on Anderson's Great Migration to provide information for profiles. Great Migration says that Savage got it wrong when he said "this daughter probably died young. So this Mary Tibballs-7 and Mary Tibbals-119 (who it says, "died young") need to be merged since they are profiles that represent the same person. Will you please proceed with a merge. Thank you.
Tibbals-7 and Tibbals-9 appear to represent the same person because: Tibbals-7 and Tibbals-9 appear to be the same person. Tibbals-7 was created by a ged and was initially given incorrect family linkages. This seems to have been clarified. In working on the connectors project, I found Tibbals-9 and believe these are both the same Mary's. The birth place are the same and the death place is the same. Tibbal-7's profile is very limited on other bio information.

detached Nicholas Smith of Isle of Wight county, Virginia as her husband & Elizabeth Smith of Virginia as her daughter.

I posted several months ago that this Mary, born Connecticutt/died New York, is probably not wife of Nicholas or mother of Elizabeth of Isle of Wight county, Virginia. No comments have clarified, so I'll be disconnecting them.
