Ted Thorley was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Edward Donald Thorley was born in 1879 in Singleton, Colony of New South Wales, Australia^[1], son of Edwin Thorley and Joanna Agatha Ring.

Blodwyn and Edward Donald Thorley were married in 1901 in the Port Town of Fremantle, Western Australia^[2]. Their children were:

• Ivor Edwin Thorley (1901–1945)
• Ruth Thorley (1902–1961)
• Herbert James Thorley (1908–1944)
• Lalla Thorley (1908–1955)
• Kenneth Donald Thorley (1913–2001)
• Inea (Thorley) Valentine (1921-Unknown).

Edward "Ted" passed away, at the age of 65, around the 3 July 1945 in Edelweisss gold mine, 25 miles south of Sharks Gully and 40 miles south of Marble Bar, Western Australia, Australia^[3].

Obituary. Mr. TED THORLEY. The passing of Mr. Ted Thorley will be noted with regret by Bridgetown residents. Mr. Thorley, who died recently at Marble Bar, was well known here, being at one time in partnership with his brother Herbert, in a garage in Steere Street. He is survived by a wife and five children, Ivor (P.W. Borneo), Ruth (Mrs. Ross Keesing), Biddy (Mrs. M. Williams), Ken (AIF, New Guinea), Inea (Mrs. C. Valentine). One son, Tim, died some months ago^[5]
