Biography

Anne Marie was born in 1682 in Port Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France. Her parents were Pierre Thibodeau and Jeanne Thériot. She was the fifth girl in this family with the name Marie and the second to be named Anne Marie.[1]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Anne-Marie, aged 4, was living with her parents, Pierre TIBAUDEAU [sic], aged 55, and Jeanne TERRIOT [sic], aged 43, and her 13 siblings: Marie, aged 25, Marie, aged 23, Marie, aged 21, Anne-Marie, aged 16 [sic], Catherine [recte Marie Catherine], aged 19, Pierre, aged 16, Jeanne, aged 14, Jean, aged 13, Antoine, aged 12, Pierre, aged 10, Michel, aged 8, Cecille [sic], aged 6, and Claude, aged 2. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 10 arpents of cultivable land with 14 cattle, 5 sheep, and 7 hogs.[2]

Anne-Marie (14) married Charles (D'Amours) d'Amours de Louvier (34) (born on 4 Mar 1662 in Québec, Canada, Nouvelle-France; son of Mathieu (D'Amours) D'Amour de Chauffour and Marie (Marsollet) Marsolet) in 1697 in Acadie, Nouvelle-France. [3] She was just 15 years old and he was 35 (a second marriage for him). She became stepmother to two children, the oldest of whom was just 4 years younger than she was. Together, they had 10 children, all born in Quebec:[1] Their known children were:

  2. Marie Anne (D Amours) D'Amours de Louvières (abt. 1699–1739) .
  3. Marie Charlotte d'Amour (abt. 1701–1766) .
  4. Marie Louise D'Amours 1703 - ?
  5. René Louis D'Amours (1705–abt. 1759) .
  6. Louis Michel D'Amours 1707 - ?
  7. Marie Marguerite (D'Amours) D'Amours de Louvières (1710– ) .
  8. Pierre Delouviére (1712–1768)
  9. Marie Madeleine D'Amours 1713 - ?
  10. Louis D'Amours 1716 - ?
  11. Pierre D'Amours

She died on September 02, 1720, in Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, Quebec Province.[1]
