James Burt (son of James) was born in Taunton, Massachusetts about 1659 and died there about age 84 on 10 Jun 1743, at which point his wife was still living. He married at Taunton 2 Sep 1685 Mary Thayer, probably daughter of Nathaniel and Abigail (Harvey) Thayer. (Note they named children Nathaniel and Abigail, who would be named for her parents, and a son William, who coud be named for Abigail's father.[1]

I'm trying to resolve a duplicate (see the unmerged match). I know there are a lot of online trees that show Mary Thayer married Henry Burt, but the most recent research shows that it was actually James Burt that she was married to. There was an article in The American Genealogist that outlined James' family. You can read it here in the Life Sketch portion. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L6TB-FSQ
If there's no objection, I'd like to remove the marriage to Henry Burt and merge the two Mary's.
