Biography

1715 - Richard is listed in the 1715 Southold Muster Roll. 1718 - Richard's brother Joseph quitclaimed a deed to him for land which extended from Long Island Sound to nearly half the distance between the "Setaucut Road" (Sound Avenue) and the "Southward highway that leads westward to the Riverhead."

1731 - 1749 Richard Sweezey was listed as a 'fence viewer' at Southold Town meetings.

1735 - Listed as being paid for work done on the "Meeting House" in Aquebogue, by Daniel Wells. 1737 - Richard Sweezey is recorded on a list of freeholders in Suffolk County 27 Feb 1737. 1778 Census, enumerated 22 Aug 1778 by Daniel and Jeremiah Wells - Living in Aquebogue District, 4 person in household.
