Erin is Richard Soltysiak's middle daughter. She grew up in a tiny town northeast of Baltimore with her older sister, younger brother, and a varying assortment of animals and cacophony of instruments. She graduated from North Harford High School, and joined the United States Navy as a Machinist's Mate in 2002 where she deployed multiple times onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and the USS Oscar Austin (earning Sailor of the Year in 2010) and is a Gulf War Veteran, having served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Petty Officer Robertson precommissioned the USS Gerald Ford and was medically retired in 2018. She married a fellow sailor and musician and they have two wonderful, exhausting children together.

Erin spends her time volunteering with Cub Scouts as a den leader, the Parent Teacher Organization at her kid's school, tasting every bourbon, reading anything she can get her hands on, dreaming of finishing her current needlepoint, and of course Wikitree-ing, especially on the Appalachia Project and as a greeter. She is happy to help you with your genealogy journey. Ask her about the Remember the Children project, RAWK, the Disasters project, the Civil War project, the Notables project, Women of Science, or WT Ambassadors to get an earful of excited genealogist.

As Queen Elizabeth said, "the cumulative impact of thousands of small acts of goodness can be bigger than we imagine." So LET'S WORK TOGETHER!!

Hi Erin, I am also a descendant of Isaac Jackson and was excited to find your info. If you are not aware of it, a friend of mine who is a Civil War researcher found a letter written by the captain of Isaac's company to Isaac's brother Samuel relating the circumstances of his death at Shiloh - it is incredibly moving: https://dan-masters-civil-war.blogspot.com/2021/04/a-sad-duty-indeed-federal-captain.html. I visited Shiloh in 2018 and with the help of a battlefield guide was able to locate to very near the exact spot Isaac must have been killed.

Your Jackson tree has a lot of info that mine is missing, I would love to do a merge some day but need to learn more about it first.

My Jackson tree: Wm (Sr) > Wm (Jr) > Oscar > Truverton James > Blanche Pauline (Goodwin) > Miriam Fern (Goodwin) > Richard Wood (me)

Hello Erin,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team, working on profiles from your watchlist and other profiles that interest you. The other two Biography Teams work on Abandoned and Popular profiles from the provided lists. Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Hi Erin, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a marvelous New Year.

The Annual US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart

Thanks Erin, I'm relatively new to Wikitree. I did have my DNA analysed through Helix but I understand they no longer exist. I haven't contributed much to date but have numerous generations of ancestors to record. Our family, until a couple years ago, had annual reunions beginning in 1906 & records prior to then. There are several dead ends which hopefully Wikitree can assist me with.

Thank you for the welcome. I decided to keep going back without filling in too much detail until I found an ancestor on the tree. I found the match at my 3rd great grandparents. So, now I'll fill in those branches before going back up the tree further.
That's a great jumping off point! It took me a while to connect to the "big" tree but once I did it really opened up a lot of opportunities. Let me know if you have any questions as you work.

Good luck and have fun!
