Note

Janet is the only possibility of providing the Crail Runcimans with a step-family. William of Crail's first wife, Katharin Wishart bore him 3 children, 2 of whom died in infancy. Janet's death date has not been established, so it is not known categorically whether she went onto adulthood/marriage/children. A search of OPR banns leans towards the liklihood of there being no marriage. Using wild cards on Scotland's People searching with R*N*M*N* and given name J*N*T* reveals that there were no Janet/Jennet etc marriages in Crail.
Indeed William of Crail's marriages to Katharin Wishart and Elizabeth Jamieson are the only Banns ever recorded in Crail OPR during the pre-statutory registration period.
