Catharine was the first of two daughters in the family, both named Catharine, who died in infancy. The date recorded in the Crail Parish register is 15 July 1752 but it is uncertain whether this is a date of death or a date of burial. She is recorded as 'of the Isle of May'. This indicates that probably her parents' first home after marriage was on The Isle of May.
She shares a gravestone in the churchyard of Crail Church with those in the family who followed.
