Biography

The name for James T Williams wife on the 1900 federal census is largely illegible but could be Martha, birth year is totally illegible, but state of her birth and mother's birth (Alabama) matches up with her and Emma Eliza McElroy; however on the census it says father was born in Georgia. On the 1870 census it actually looks like it says "Martha" and says she was 25 at the time. From the 1880 census, we get the middle initial of "A" for Martha, but it again says she was born in Mississippi. However, "brother-in-law" was living with them named "Robert Puckett" aged 20 in Alabama, so this is only source that suggests a maiden name for her. But DNA connections confirm she is a Puckett.
