Biography

Rachel was baptized on Sunday, 30 Nov 1766. She was the daughter and youngest child of David Parker and Alice Tompson of Billerica, Massachusetts. Rachel's short life ended on 31 July 1768. Her mother, Alice died the following day.

Notes

1. Father of Rachel - It is known with certainty that Rachel's father was a man named David Parker, who married Alice Tompson in 1757. There are several persons named David Parker who could be the father. However, none of the possible candidates has yet been identified. That said, it is 100% certain that it is not the David Parker (1728-1801) buried in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading, MA.
2. Date of Birth - Rachel was baptized on Sunday, 30 Nov 1766. Following normal custom, she was probably born during the prior week, Nov 22 -29.
3. Family Deaths - The fact that Rachel and her mother died in the Summer of 1768 one day apart suggests that the cause was an infectious disease. But none of the death records give a cause of death. Rachel's brother, Pepleg died in October of that year.
