Biography

Thomas Palgrave, Gent., of Thruxton, Norfolk, younger son of Henry Palgrave, Esq., and Anne Glemham,[1][2][3] was born about 1505-1510.[4]

Thomas was named in his father's will dated 11 September 1513 and proved 14 January 1517/8 and appears to be his parent's third son.[4] He inherited the manor of Thruxton and founded the Thruxton branch of the family.[4][5]

He married about 1537 Alice Gunton, daughter of Robert Gunton, Gent., of Thruxton, Norfolk.[1][4] They had four sons and three daughters:

  1. Gregory, Gent.,[1] baptized 12 March 1538/9, buried 17 August 1617, will dated 7 January 1613/4, proved 5 January 1617/8; married first Amy Patrick, second Mary Sefowle, had five children[4]
  2. [Rev.] Edward, second son, baptized 21 January 1540/1, died before 20 December 1623, married ____ and had issue[1][4]
  3. Walter,[1] baptized 2 March 1543/4, buried 8 September 1557[4]
  4. William,[1] baptized 19 April 1546, buried 9 October 1547[4]
  5. Mary, wife of William Jare,[1] was baptized 12 November 1548[4]
  6. Margaret, wife of Robert Durrant,[1] was baptized 10 April 1551[4]
  7. Anne, wife of Gregory Clarke,[1] was baptized 29 July 1554[4]

Thomas' date and place of death are unknown.
