Biography

Jacob was born about 1750. He passed away about 1805.

It is believed that this Jacob Page was married twice.

  • 1) Unknown before 1792 by whom he had at least two sons (Abraham and Thomas)
  • 2) Lourania Martha Elizabeth Fereby about 1793 and had 5 children

  • Only one Jacob Page listed in the 1800 census of North Carolina.

1801 -Dec;

  • Moved to SC and purchased a 500 acre plantation on the south side of South Edisto River in the Barnwell District. This is the same tract sold by Jacob Page of Smith Co, TN in 1831 witnessed by Abraham Page.

1805 -March 7; Jacob left a will in Barnwell District of SC.

  • In the Name of God Amen, I Jacob Page of the state of South Carolina and District of Barnwell being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, but knowing the Transitory State of all men do make this my last will and Testament, first I Give and bequeath my soul into the hands of God that gave of and my body to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the Discretion of my body Executors hereafter Named, And as Touching such Worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased god to blefs me with in this word, I Give and dispose of in the following manner,- That im to say, It is my Will that my beloved wife Lurania Page Shall have and keep pofoefsion of the Land and plantation I live on during her natural life to Endeavor to raise my small children on, and after her Death to be Equally divided between my five Smallest children Vis Beda Jacob Delania Barnaby and Foreby Page to them and their heirs for Ever It is further my Will that my beloved wife Lurania Should have and keep as her right an property Three feather beds and furniture to be her disposed of at his will and pleasure without lett or hindrance fro any Person Whomsoever, I also Give and bequeath to my loving wife one Mare to he and her heirs for ever, also on Table and One Chest and Sight head of a hoge and their futue increase. with Some plantation Tools Consifting of a hand saw Two Augers Drawing knife and on chifoel one pot and frying Pan Three Pewter plates and one Dish also Some bells now about the house with a cart and two plows with on Water Pail and smoothing Iron and one Zxe also Two Saddles and bridles one spinning Wheel and one pare of cotton Cards with a looking Glafe and Small Trunck to be by his Disposed of at her Will and Pleasure. It is my Will and Desire that my Wife Lurania Page qualify as Whole and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament ratifyintg and confirming this and no other as my last Will and testament

From the lst marriage, it is possible that Jacob Page had children: Abraham, Isaac, and Jonathan.

Note: Abraham Page witnessed the deed where Jacob Page (son) sold his father's land in Barnwell District, SC. A Jonathan Page was a neighbor in l830
