Life Facts
Simon was a Captain in 1785 and a Colonel in 1788. He removed from Kensington to Winthrop, Maine, about 1783-1785. He was a farmer and settled on Stanley road. His dwelling, a large two-story building, was situated partly on a rangeway and partly on lot No. 24. When Readfield, Maine, was set off and incorporated in 1791 the south line of this lot became the dividing line between the two towns, the line passing through the big chimney in the middle of the house, and Col. Page thus became a citizen of Readfield. About 1820 Col. Page disposed of his farm and lived with his daughter, the wife of Dr. Peleg Benson. For several years before his death he was totally blind.[1]
Death
Col. Simon Page died March 24, 1835, aged 90 years, 3 months.[1]
