DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Rodolphus by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Rodolphus:
I haven't been able to find sources showing that his wife was a Gent or Jent. I have found this "Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797-1954," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V5ZD-VM9 : 9 March 2021), Dorathy Norriss in entry for Francis Peak and Betsiana Norriss, 14 Feb 1800; citing Marriage, Nelson, Kentucky, United States, various county clerks and county courts, Kentucky; FHL microfilm 9,667.
I found a Francis Peake who maried Betsiana Norris. Betsiana was the daughter of dorothy and Rodolphus.
Thank you, Candice. Yes, in many records , Rodolphus Norris is listed as married to Dorothy Ann Jent. In a few other areas she is listed as a Peake. I did find that her mother was married twice once to a Jent or Gent and then to a Peake. Now, it may have been she was married to the Peake first. I could find no record to verify it
So, somewhere somehow this profile has been changed. I have Rodolphus Norris married Dorothy Ann Jent. He was born in 1747 in St. Mary’s county and died in 1814 in Kentucky. It looks like there is another Rodolphus Norris born in St. Mary’s county but died in 1818. The wife’s are different. Some of the children may even be mixed up. My line come from a Mark Norris, born in 1770, with Rebeka born next in 1771. There are a total of 16 children between the two men that need to be separated. I will start looking for source’s tomorrow. Thank you ladies! Great team work😃
They are two different people. Different birth dates, different names. I am the 4th great granddaughter to Rodolphus Norris, but have no relationship to the other man.
I am really confused now. Should I not have merged them? Looking through the changes history, I don't see where they got conflated. Everything was the same.
Norris-4689 and Norris-4698 do not represent the same person because: I think there might be two rodolphus norris'. I don't think my ancestor died in Kentucky.
I found a Francis Peake who maried Betsiana Norris. Betsiana was the daughter of dorothy and Rodolphus.

I found his will. This is written 1814/1815. So my Marke had passed. However if you are good with reading tiny cursive, it might help figure out the children of this Rodolphus. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GP3T-9B4B?i=380
