Communication Preferences:
I am interested in communicating with
anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests.
Here is my family tree.
Genealogically speaking I am 27/32 Scottish and 5/32 English. Known regions of origin for my ancestors are: Kent, Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, West Yorkshire, the Scottish Borders, East, West and Mid-Lothian, Fife, Perthshire, Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Shetland and Argyll; possibly also Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, south-west Scotland and Fair Isle or Orkney. Interested in house, local, regional and name history. Currently importing thousands of relatives from GEDcoms and building biographies. I initially focused on connecting up to the larger tree, so profiles for which I am manager are works in progress, but they most certainly have not been abandoned! I really appreciate being contacted about profiles before intervention.

As much of my family is 'out on a limb' from the rest of WikiTree, I manage profiles of ancestors as well as their descendants who don't have anyone else to look after them yet. If you see my name as manager or on the trusted list of a profile, I should be related. If you are more closely related to a profile and would like to be the manager, please get in touch.
I have a particular interest in Scottish history and genealogy. I edit unrelated profiles to add sources and standardise locations.
Works in progress
I am hoping to write biographies for all my ancestors, but life gets in the way.
I would also like to build out my part of the tree to include tree overlaps and descendant lines to DNA matches I have found elsewhere.
Looking for research co-operations for the following brick walls
Robertson, possibly from Renfrewshire: John Robertson may have been born in about 1822. The first clearly identifiable record for John is his 1842 marriage to Elizabeth Paton. He was a slater by occupation and lived most of his life in Greenock, occasionally in Glasgow, and later in Lochgilphead and Dumbarton. He died in Greenock in 1889. His parents were given as John Robertson and Hannah McAulay on his death entry. Scotlands People has over 50 baptism records for John Robertsons in 1822 alone and there do not appear to be any records for a couple with his parents' supposed names.
