Reverend Sir John Mosley, 3rd Bt. was born in 1706 and baptised at St Mary's, Rolleston[1]: John the son of Oswald Mosley Esq and Elizabeth his wife was baptised 21st day of November 1706. He was the son of Sir Oswald Mosley, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Thornhaugh.

Education & Appointments[2]
Schooled at Eton and admitted to Trinity College Cambridge 1724. Awarded B.A. 1727/8 and M.A. 1735. John was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1725/6 and ordained a deacon in 1735. Appointed Rector of Warsop Nottinghamshire with Sookholme from 15 Dec Nov to 24 Apr 1778 and Rector of Rolleston 22 Nov 1777 to his death in 1779

He succeeded, from his elder brother, as the 3rd Baronet Mosley, of Rolleston, co. Staffs [G.B., 1720] on 26 February 1757 and was administrator of his estate.

John died in September 1779, unmarried and was buried at St Mary's Rolleston[3]: The Reverend Sir John Mosley Baronet son of Sir Oswald Mosley Baronet and Elizabeth his wife was buried September 29th 1779. On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.
