Biography
Jâques was born on 16 Feb 1779 at St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud and baptized the next at day L'église St-François-de-Sales. The baptismal records lists his father's name as Pierre and his mother's as Marie Tanon.
Jâques married Marie Hélène Gagnon on 7 Aug 1803 at St-Charles-sur-Richelieu. The bride's parents were listed as Vincent Gagnon and Marie Anne L'abbé. The marriage record listed his mother's surname as Talon.
Jâques died a widower at St-Hyacinthe, Québec, on 24 Sep 1857 and was buried two days later at Cathédral de Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire. The burial record lists his age at death as 81.
