John was married in 1942 in San Carlos, California to Jeannette L. Lagomarsino.^[2]

John served in the United States Navy from 1 February 1941 to 26 December 1946.^[3]

On 15 April 1950, John J. and Jeanette R. Morgan, their children Paul J. and Catherine L., and a maid Georgia Meadow lived at 1421 Magnolia in San Carlos, San Mateo County, California. John was a furniture and appliance salesman.^[4]

John and Jeannett were divorced in March 1976.^[5]
