Jennett was born in 1838 in Wales. She was the daughter of Thomas Morgan and Ann Sanders.
In 1851, her family was living in Tranch Bach near Mertyhr Tydfil, Wales. Jennett was living with her Aunt Ann and Uncle William Williams, and their boys, at the time. All the boys loved her, especially John who was 11 years older than her. Although Jennett was a devoted member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, she left the church to marry her wealthy, gentile cousin, John. She never faltered in her religious beliefs.[1]
Jennett married her cousin, John Williams, son of William Williams and Ann Morgan of Wales, on 23 Jul 1864 in Llangattock, Brecknockshire, Wales. Jennett was called Jane on the marriage record.[2]. They had 10 children: Robert, Annie Catherine, Harry Henry Morgan, Edward, Mary Jane, William, Gwendoline, Jennett, John Lewis, and Gabriel Secter, all born in Wales except the last who was born in Canada.
The family moved to the United States around 1878. Only Harry and Annie lived to become adults. Four of the children died within days of each other from diptheria when the family was living in East Saginaw, Michigan.[3]
The family moved to Utah after living in Michigan for a number of years. The family went from being wealthy farmers in Wales to poor coal miners in Utah, according to family history.[3]
In 1898, her husband John died while they were alone together on the farm. After his death, Jennett, went to live with their son Harry and his family for several years.[3] [4]
Jennett passed away in 1928 in Utah. Burial was in the Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland, Emery County, Utah. The name on her grave is Janet M Williams. She shares a grave marker with her husband, John Williams.[5]
In 1945, she and her husband were mentioned in the death record of their son, Harry Morgan Williams, in Castle Dale, Emery, Utah.[6]
