Biography

Catherine Avery Morgan, born 26 Oct 1815 at Washington, Massachusetts, was the third and final child of Catharine (Copp) Morgan (1775-abt.1822) with her second husband Jasper Morgan (1783-1869).

She married twice:

1) In 1836 Rev. James E. Rowland; they had 3 children:

1. Henry Augustus Rowland, b. 5 Feb 1837; unmarried; d. 4 Jan 1863 @ Columbus, Ohio
2. William Frederick Rowland, b. 10 May 1842; married in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Isabella M. MacKinnell; 3 children; U.S. consul, Nice, France; d. 3 Aug 1883 in Switzerland
3. George Rowland, b. 15 May 1845; married 1) Dec 1870 Maria T. Durfee; 2) 4 Jun 1913 Emily H. (Brown) Tillinghast; 6 children

Rev. J. E. Rowland died 9 Nov 1854, after which widow Catherine Avery (Morgan) married--
