Biography

Rachel was a Friend (Quaker)

TWO RACHEL MILLS

THIS IS THE FIRST RACHEL MILLS TO MARRY ROBERT HODGSON.
(Sorry, but it gets so confusing.) -- Hollenbeck-72 21:48, 5 August 2017 (EDT)
The two Rachel Mills are not duplicates. They are first cousins who both married Robert Hodgson many years apart from each other. The earlier Rachel Mills is the daughter of Thomas Mills and Rebecca Harrold. This Rachel died in 1791.
The later Rachel Mills is currently listed as the daughter of Hur Mills and Rachel Herrold. I am not quite ready to believe that Rachel Herrold is her mother.

I just changed her parents so the merge of Rachel Mills (Mills-9356) into Rachel Mills (Mills-643) can now continue.

Mills-9356 and Mills-643 appear to represent the same person because: Two Rachel Mills (first cousins of each other) both married Robert Hodgson. This is the FIRST RACHEL to marry him. The other Rachel is the daughter of Hur Mills.

This Rachel Mills currently has the wrong parents. Two Rachel Mills (first cousins of each other) both married Robert Hodgson. This is the first Rachel. Her parents were Thomas Mills and Elizabeth Harrold. I will change it to allow for the merge of duplicates. The daughter, Rachel (Hodgson) Williams, was born before her father married the daughter of Hur Mills.

This is such a confusing mess but it is getting better.  :-)

DUPLICATE ISSUES REVISITED. It gets confusing. Some unlinking and relinking and shuffling must be done I'm afraid. Calling on help from the various profile managers involved. Two Rachel Mills married the same man several years apart. The two Rachels are first cousins. I have the parents mixed up. One is the daughter of Hur Mills. Can we get this fixed? Will you help me? Thanks. I will start by creating a little spreadsheet we can all look at and study. I think that will help. I'll put it on Google Drive and grant editing privileges to each of you.

I marked Rachel Mills (Mills-9356) and Rachel Mills (Mills-643) as unmerged matches because they have conflicting parents which must be first resolved.

Earlier, I marked Rachel Hodgson (Mills-3597) and Rachel Mills (Mills-643) as Unmerged Matches because they show different fathers. I thought they were sloppy duplicates. Later, I found evidence elsewhere that these two different Rachel Mills (first cousins with each other) both married Robert Hodgson many years apart from each other. Is this correct? Now I have them marked as a rejected match.
