Robert Maxwell, born about 1789 and died before the 1850 Census, married Delilah Williams (2.8), born 1797 and died 15 June 1853, daughter of Robert Williams and Susan Daniels.
They are listed in the 1820 Census of Sampson County with three males and one female 26 to 45 years old and one male and one female under 10 years of age.
Robert bought a tract of 500 acres in Sampson County "where I (Thomas) now live" from his father on 19 September 1817 for $500 (Deed Book 18s, p. 328). Deed was registered 20 September 1820. Robert bought a tract of 50 acres in Sampson County at the head of Flat Marsh from his father on 25 February 1819 for $30 (Deed Book 18s, p. 330). Deed was registered 20 September 1820.
Robert received $50 and one negro boy in his father's will.
Robert and Delilah moved to Georgia after 1837. They are listed in the 1840 Census of Decatur County with one male and one female 40 to 50 years old, one male and one female 20 to 30 years old, one female 15 to 20 years old, one male and two females 10 to 15 years old, one male and one female 5 to 10 years old, and one male under 5 years old, a total of nine children. Delilah is listed in the 1850 Census of Decatur County (Dwelling 430) with four children born in North Carolina, the youngest four. Ten children.
