Biography

Leonardo was born in 1843 to Ignazio Marino, a shopkeeper, and Vincenza DiGiovanna ^[1]. In 1864 at age 20, he married 19-year-old Anna Montelione ^[2]. They had several children. Leonardo was still living as of 18 January 1888 ^[3].

Leonardo's marriage record indicates he was a 'cordaro', rope-maker, and as a skilled craftsman he was referred to with the title Maestro.
