Biography

Ignazio Marino migrated from Sicily to New York.

Ignazio was born in 1866 in Santa Margherita di Belice, a son of Leonardo Marino, a rope manufacturer, and Anna Montelione ^[1]. He married Francesca Barracca in 1888 when he was 21 and she was 20 ^[2]. They had at least 8 children in Sicily. In 1911, Ignazio moved to Brooklyn, NY and Francesca followed in 1913. They remained in Brooklyn for the remainder of their lives.

Per his marriage record, Ignazio was a tailor by profession. Ignazio was named for his paternal grandfather, Ignazio Marino.
