The 1842 death record for son Vincenzo indicates that Ignazio was a 'villico', a peasant farmer. By 1843 Ignazio was a 'bottegaro' a shopkeeper[3]. By 1864, his profession was listed as 'cordaro' or rope-maker, and he was referred to as Maestro Ignazio.[4]
