Biography

John Leffel was born on April 14, 1781, in Berks, Pennsylvania, his father, John, was 28 and his mother, Anna, was 21. He married Catherine Clapsaddle on May 22, 1805, in Botetourt, Virginia. They had nine children in 16 years. He died in 1825 at the age of 44. John and Catherine relocated to Clark County, Ohio with John's mother Anna Margaretha Abendschon Leffel and siblings.
