This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro! If not, you can always revisit the tour stops via the comment boxes on the right side of your profile. You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. Today, we want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper. As always, your questions are welcome!

You may have been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

You've been here for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.
You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.
As always, your questions are welcome!

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour. This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There are opportunities to get involved, social media, our forums, and projects. I noticed that you're following a couple of surname tags; think about adding a location/place name you mention as tags. Check out our https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:United_States_History from the main page you can go to various sub project pages including, State_Projects more links to the individual states. Enjoy exploring, if any project is of interest you join by contacting the lead. Please if you have questions, just click my name then ask in the comment section of my page.

More on sources and checking for duplicates!
Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile.
Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.
Family Search and Find a Grave are free websites for finding sources:

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Thank you for your comment in G2G and questions on sources!
Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information."
A source provides a way to find out more about the person. Showing sources reduces confusion and duplicates.
How Do You Find Sources? offers links to free sources (and a few for subscription). If you can't find a source, try asking about it at the G2G Forum.
The Sources Style Guide shows how to enter sources in the biography.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!

I just wanted to check in with you to see how things were going. If you have any questions or need direction please feel free to contact me. Michelle~WikiTree Mentor
Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community. Once you sign the Honor Code, you may start adding profiles.
Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour to help new members learn their way around. The first stop is How-To #1: How to Start Climbing Our Tree. The How-To's are intended to be visited about once a week, but feel free to work through them at your own pace.
To meet other WikiTreers, check out our G2G forum, including the question of the week: Who are the military heroes in your branch of the tree?
Enjoy!
David ~ Wiki Greeter
A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Were really glad youre here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.
Ludwig :)
