Biography

Mary was a Friend (Quaker)
Mary is said to be the daughter of William and Cecelia (Love) Lane. She may have been related to Bernard Lane, but the connection is uncertain. She married John Carver in England, possibly at St. Albans Priory.
Mary was pregnant with their first child when they arrived in Pennsylvania in 1682 with her husband. She gave birth to their daughter Mary in October of that year. They are said to have come from Hertfordshire, England.
It is not known which ship they arrived on. The claim to be among the passengers of Welcome is probably not true, since their daughter was born in Pennsylvania a few days prior to William Penn's arrival aboard Welcome. [1]They were however one of the earliest arrivals and among the First Purchasers.

Mary seems to have picked up an extra spouse named John Carver. Do you know which one is correct?
