Anna was born September 30, 1794 and baptized on October 4[1] to Johann Jacob Kolb and Maria Magdalene. She married John Christopher Corkum in 1815. Christopher died in 1848. Anna's date of death is not known.
I had originally recorded her birth name as "Colp" which is the spelling today. The spelling was inconclusive based on a transcript when I created this profile. Now that the original German baptism record has been located, her father's name is clearly spelled Kolb and I have changed her birth name to that spelling. Her mother's birth name is not indicated in this baptism record.
Her parents were married December 6, 1774 according to transcription of Zion Lutheran Church records[2] her mother's name here is transcribed as Ann Magdalene Schlier (daughter of Jacob) so possibly her full name may have been Anna Maria Magdalene. Her father is listed as son of John Jacob so was named after his father. I do not have access to the original German record to verify.
So in trying to determine Anna Catherina Kolb's mother's proper birth name, her mother being married in 1774 would probably have been about age 20 or so meaning her birth right around the time the foreign protestants arrived in Halifax. So I looked into Winthrop Bell's notes looking for Anna's mother's parents. There is no Schlier in Bell's notes but there is a Jacob with a surname resembling Schloer[3], age 30, who arrived on the Murdock in 1751 indebted for one freight (fare) so appeared to be unmarried.
Bell's notes are quite complicated on this Schloer family however there are two girls born to Jacob and Catharina Schloer, baptized in December 1755 named Anna Catherine and Anna Magdalena. This would appear to be the Anna Maria Magalena that married Johann Jacob Kolb in 1774 (above). So it seems to fit that Anna Catherina Kolb's mother's birth name was Schloer.

Another tree says that after Christopher's death, Anna married Johann Casper Conrad. No documentation has been found to confirm this. Casper was born April 15, 1791[4][5] and died in 1866. Caspar married Anna Corkum, daughter of Johann Gottlieb Edward Corkum in 1813 so she would have to have died and Casper would have been a widower also at that time if he married Anna Catharina. None of this is supported by any evidence found at this time.
