Obituary 16 FEB 1928. the Youngstown Daily Vindicator, Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio,. Note: MRS. RALSTON, PIONEER, DIES. Mother of Miss Ethel Ralston, Sister of Miss Susie Knox -- Rayen Graduate. Mrs. Martin(sic) Knox Ralston, aged 58, pioneer resident of Youngstown and mother of Miss Ethel Ralston, manager of the Y. M. C. A. cafeteria, and a sister of Miss Susie Knox, of the juvenile court, died suddenly at four p. m. yesterday from a heart attack suffered late Monday. Her death comes as a distinct shock to her family and friends. She resided at 1639 Emma St. Born in England in 1870, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Williams Knox, she came to Youngstown with them when an infant. Her parents were among the early pioneers of this district from England. Mrs. Ralston was among the first graduates from Rayen school graduating in the class of 1889. She was married 35 years ago to John Ralston, who is living. Mrs. Ralston was a member of the Tabernacle U. P. Church and the Ladies' Missionary Society and was active in both organizations. She had paramount interest in her home and her children, however, and her home was always a shrine of hospitality for friends. Her sister, Miss Knox, is at the head of the Mother's Pension Department of the domestic court. Mrs. Ralston leaves three daughters, Mrs. Mary Werner, Dayton; Ethel Ralston and Olive, Youngstown; a brother, Andrew Knox, and a sister, Susie A. Knox. A son, Joseph, died five(sic) years ago. Funeral services will be held at 145 p. m. at the residence, with later services at 2:30 p. m. at the Tabernacle U. P. Church, with the Rev. John Heslip in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. ^[17]
