Biography

Capt Amos Kinne was born 15 Jul 1742 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut. The original spelling of his surname was De Kenne, but it is also spelled Kene, Kinney, Keeney, Kenney, Keayne, and Canney, but they are all of the same family. The original spelling in America was Keney. Thomas (Keny) Kinne Sr. changed the spelling to Kinne. Sir Thomas came to America about 1641 and died in New London, CT.
