Biography

Peter was born about 1695 son of Samuel Rice and Abigail Clapp. [1]

Peter King married Elizabeth Flagg February 15, 1719-20 in Weston, Massachusetts. Peter King alias Rice and Elizebeth Flegg Both of Worcester were Joyned in Marriage at Weston ye 15th. Day of Febry. 1719-20, Frances Fullam Justice of peace [2]

On March 27, 1723 Peter second married Elizabeth Graves in Sudbury, MA. Peter and Elizabeth Graves of Sudbury, Mar. 25, 1723 (In Sudbury). [3]

He passed away April 9, 1739. [4]

Captain Moses Rice, son of John Rice (3) was born in Sudbury, October 26, 1694, married Sarah King of Sudbury, November 16, 1719, and removed to Worcester about 1722, with her brothers Ezra and Peter King. Rice opened a public house on the sight on the one afterwards kept by Captain Ephraim Mower on which was subsequently erected The United States Hotel, the present site of The Walker Building. He was on garrison duty at Rutland, with others from Worcester, in 1724, in Captains Wrights company. He commanded a company of Cavalry while he lived in Worcester. He removed to Rutland about 1742. He purchased two thousand two hundred acres of land in Charlemont, Massachusetts April 23, 1743, and finally settled on it.
