Leo was enumerated for the federal census on April 8, 1950. He was 5 years old at this time, and was living with parents Charles and Elvia, half-sister Jenny, and siblings Charles, Richard, Dorothy, and John, on Highway 21 South in Union Township, Washington County, Missouri. ^[2]

On March 14, 1964, Leo was married to Barbara Beers in Cadet, Missouri.
